Food at the heart of a historic, independent pub

Home-cooked dishes made on site, local ales, and a relaxed place to gather — from breakfast through to dinner.

OUR RESTAURANT

The Fox & Goose Inn is a proudly independent, historic country pub with food at its heart. Dating back to the 18th century, it has long been a place for people to gather — and today, that sense of welcome and community still matters just as much as what’s on the plate.

In an age of chains and shortcuts, we believe there’s real value in doing things properly: cooking from scratch, supporting local suppliers, and offering a relaxed space where people can eat, drink, and spend time together.

OUR Kitchen

Our kitchen focuses on well-made, home-cooked dishes prepared on site using quality ingredients. Menus change with the seasons and sit comfortably alongside pub classics, with regular specials offering something a little different. We work closely with trusted local suppliers and prepare everything with care in our own kitchen, from the main dishes to the home-made cakes baked here by our team.

any time of day....

We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with menus that change through the day. Alongside our food, locally roasted coffee, home-made cakes, hot and cold drinks, and bar snacks are available all day, making the Fox & Goose a welcoming place to stop in whether you’re here for a full meal or something lighter.

On Sundays, we’re especially proud of our traditional Sunday roasts, which have become a firm favourite with both locals and visitors alike.

our pub

At its heart, the Fox & Goose is still very much a pub — a place for traditional pints, familiar faces, and easy conversation. The bar is a welcoming space in its own right, with rotating local ales and beers, comfortable seating and an atmosphere that feels relaxed and unforced.

Guests are welcome to join us just for a drink or to eat in the bar and the bar area is dog-friendly, making it a popular spot for walkers, locals and four-legged guests. Whether you’re settling in for a meal or stopping by for a pint, this is a pub that’s meant to be used, enjoyed and shared — not rushed through.
